Deauville by Transforma
The classic sleigh bed... reinvented by Transforma for modern living.
Although the French popularised the sleigh bed, the original design was influenced by the ancient Egyptians. It’s rumoured that Napoleon Bonaparte took a liking to the sleigh beds (or “lit bateau”) he found in the exotic Egyptian palaces, and then brought the look back home to France, where it became part of the famous Empire style.
The Deauville is a low-line sleigh bed. This gives a lighter, slightly more contemporary edge to a bed style that has been popular for hundreds of years.

The Flavo is “the carpenter’s bed”. The time-honoured technique of tongue-and-groove joinery is showcased in each and every Flavo piece – as if to pay homage to this almost forgotten art.

Dimension is added to the classic combination of black and white, with the textured surface of Oak Anthracite and high gloss white surfaces. The vibrant graining of Natural Oak timber provides a stunning contrast to high gloss finishes and glass elements.
